My Story, My Path
WHERE PURPOSE TOOK ROOT
I didn’t start The Tarnished Daisy with a master plan. I started it the way many makers do... by making, learning, and figuring things out as I went.
Over time, what became clear wasn’t just what I liked to create, but how I liked to work. I wasn’t interested in chasing trends or cranking out one-off designs. I wanted my work to feel cohesive, intentional, and thoughtfully built.
Learning Illustrator gave me the control I was missing.
Building a system gave me the clarity.
That’s what The Tarnished Daisy is built on today.
I design modern laser-ready files, and I teach laser makers how to edit, expand, and build products that actually belong together — using Illustrator in a way that makes sense for real projects and real businesses.
Everything I create, from my designs to the Creative Maker System, comes from the same place: helping makers feel steadier in their process and more confident in the products they put into the world.

This one was earned.
After losing my husband of thirty-two years, I was suddenly facing a blank page I never expected. I didn't feel broken, but I did feel... changed. Worn in places. A little weathered. Tarnished... but not done.
The daisy has always meant renewal to me...growth, resilience, and blooming again, even in unlikely places. Together, The Tarnished Daisy holds both truths: the marks life leaves on us, and the quiet courage to start again anyway.

When I first started designing for my laser, I was overwhelmed by the pressure to make products that not only looked good but sold well, photographed beautifully, and fit my brand. I spent way too much time tweaking files that were never built with production in mind.
